The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) recently conducted a Matalinong Panonood program in Batangas City for a better understanding of the application of the classification rating system for movies and television programs.
The campaign started with an inspection of buses and ferries at the Batangas Grand Terminal and Port Batangas City, as led by Chairperson Eugenio Villareal.
The MTRCB conducted a Matalinong Panonood Forum entitiled “Matalinong Panonood Para sa pamilya nina Juan at Juana” at the Lyceum of Batangas and University of Batangas. About 2000 college students, faculty members, and administrators participated in this major event.
Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto expressed her full support for the MTRCB and its initiatives as the keynote and inspirational speaker in both fora. Gov. Vi commended the Board for the innovations and improvements they brought to the Agency, especially the revised classification ratings for the television programs and films.
In her speech, Gov. Vi said that the present Board shows deep appreciation for the artistic aspects of the material being exhibited, yet still upholds the welfare of the audience, especially the children and the youth.
