Ginebra has finally won a Commissioner's Cup title they last held in Gordon's Gin colors.
The wait was two decades in the making, but BGSM made the win worth it after a 95-73 blowout of San Miguel Beer Wednesday night to finish the Beermen in six games, 4-2, encapsulating the 2018 Commissioner's on a high after a slow start to the conference.
Justin Brownlee proved once more as the X-Factor for the Gin Kings, leading his team to his erstwhile first Comm's cup trophy and played the spoiler's role for Grand Slam-seeking SMB for the second year in a row.
The conference's Best Import scored 31 points and grabbed 19 rebounds as his team broke away in the second half to walk away with their third title in two years.
Meanwhile, Scottie Thompson bagged the Finals MVP plum as he scored 12 markers along with 13 boards.
On the other hand, Chris Ross and Marcio Lassiter went scoreless in the pivotal Game 6 and couldn't provide any help to JuneMar Fajardo, who scored 29 points with 15 rebounds.
SMB import Renaldo Balkman added 24 points and 14 rebounds.
