Revillame indicted over 2011 child abuse case
The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has indicted television host Willie Revillame for child abuse in 2011 involving a six-year-old boy in his defunct show.
Assistant city prosecutor Benjamin Samson said there was probable cause to charge Revillame with violation of the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
In an 18-page resolution, he said there was merit in the complaint-affidavit filed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
But Samson dismissed for lack of legal personality the complaints against Revillame and TV5 officials filed by Fr. Robert Reyes, blogger Froilan Grate, Frances Irene Bretana, Noemi Lardizabal-Dado, Dolores Alforte, Amihan Abueva, Ma. Salome Ujano, Elnora Tabios, Gerald Imperial, Jean Enriquez, Aida Santos, Lilian Mercadeo and Vicente Pelobello.
During the “Willing Willie” show on March 12, 2011, the boy was made to dance and given P10,000 as cash reward.
