Zuniega wins mayoral race
CORDON—Mayor Laurencio Zuniega defeated lawyer Amado Vallejo to serve his third and final term.
He got 8,607 votes versus Vallelejo’s 8,454, heralding a victory of the Liberal Party over Nationalist People’s Coalition in Isabela.
Daughter Councilor Lynn Zuniega was elected with 10,227 for the second term along with Councilor Jane Ngipol (9,613), Councilor Efren Malupeng (6,719) and Councilor Blas Dumlao (6,295). They are joined by first timers former ABC president Arturo Vallejo (6,860), James Hoggang (7,920), Quirino Barangay chairman Richilou Abaya (6,817) and Dr. Emerson Javonillo (6,655).
Zuniega vowed to continue his programs on housing, sanitation and employment on top of infrastructure and social services which won him a new mandate.
Former councilor Charlita Mariano won as vice mayor over incumbent Hipolito Salatan .
