‘Agaton’ year’s first typhoon

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Wednesday sighted a low pressure area that was forecast to enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday.

The LPA was  sighted over the Pacific Ocean, or  around 1,500 kilometers from PAR.

If it becomes a tropical depression, it will be called “Agaton,” 2014’s first cyclone, weathermen said.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau had forecast a generally fair weather condition in Metro Manila, particularly in Manila during the feast of the Black Nazarene, today.

The northeast monsoon is expected to trigger light rains in Luzon.
