Viva returns to glossy drama

It’s been a while since movie audiences saw a real glossy drama picture that was once the prevailing norm in the movies, especially in the ‘80s.

Now, Viva Entertainment, the company that raised the standard of filmmaking then, is going back to that convention in When the Love is Gone.

The movie stars Cristine Reyes, Andi Eigenmann, Jake Cuenca, Alice Dixson, and Gabby Concepcion.

Viva has produced No Other Woman, A Secret Affair, It Takes a Man and a Woman, and before the year ends, it wanted to bring back those days when audiences watched like they were put in a trance by a hypnotist, thanks but no thanks to the glossy texture of images and crisp dialog of the lead characters.

Viva Films’ is doing a tribute to the late director Danny Zialcita with a movie based on his now classic Nagalit Ang Buwan Sa Haba Ng Gabi.

The movie also marks the 32nd year celebration of Viva.

When the Love is Gone is a story of two troubled souls trapped in a loveless relationship. But they find comfort in each other’s arms.

Cassie (Cristine Reyes), searching for solitude after discovering her husband’s mind- blowing secret, finds Emman (Gabby Concepcion), a lonely family man. Both yearning for the love that they have desired for so long are drawn into what is known as “the forbidden love.”

Embracing their fate, the lovers face Yuri (Jake Cuenca), Cassie’s husband who has some emotional issues, and Emman’s wife Audrey (Alice Dixson), a mother fighting for her daughter’s rights.

Pursuing the love Emman finds in Cassie, he gives in to the demands of Audrey to give their daughter Jenny (Andi Eigenmann) the time she rightfully deserves. In a world filled with both love and jealousy, five people’s lives are drawn into a web of deceit and betrayal.

The movie’s constant unraveling of secrets from beginning to end will keep the audience on the edge.
