NV DENR bares gains in past year
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The disposition of confiscated lumber, improvement of working conditions, implementation of the National Greening Program, Patent Processing Issuances, and continuing information, education and communication activities, among others are some of the successful accomplishments of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources office here.
Forester Constante Espiritu, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, said their recent significant accomplishments over the last year covered several areas.
They include an intensified information campaign on clean air, clean water, solid waste management, geo-hazard, groundwater assessment, responsible mining, forest and watershed management, intensified forest protection, anti-illegal logging, enhanced biodiversity conservation and improved land administration and management.
Espiritu said the DENR office just initiated a collaborative effort in the construction of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Extension Office in Aritao town, particularly on repair, painting and installation of six air condition facilities.
“This will further improve better working environment for our workers to encourage productivity and quality of work,” Espiritu said.
He also said that their NGP and PPI including all their major programs reached a 100 percent accomplishment.
Espiritu also bared that they have disposed 1,141 pieces of Common Hard Wood(CHW) and premium species with a total volume of 47.37 cubic meters and three units of confiscated vehicles covered by illegal possession and transport of forest products and ‘kaingin’ (slash and burn areas) making.
“All our Key Result Areas(KRAs) were accomplished with transparency, accountability and participatory in coordination and collaboration with all stakeholders,” he said.
