Firm's ‘hygienic’ commitment to the country

As a sign of the company’s continuous commitment to the Philippines and to its business partners, Amway Philippines, in partnership with its global office, recently turned over 600 hygiene kits to some 300 Amway Independent Business Owners based in Tacloban and Ormoc. Each distributor received two hygiene kits each.

Present during the turnover are Amway Philippines’ representatives Michelle Punongbayan-Ochoa, executive asisstant/ corporate affairs, Jom Diaz, Amway Philippines’ ADC operations supervisor, Helen Espedido, Amway Philippines’ warehouse logistics supervisor Christine Sarmiento-Tria, Amway Philippines’ assistant manager for communications, with Tacloban and Ormoc-based Amway IBOs during the hygiene kits dristribution.

The Amway One by One Campaign for Children mobilizes Amway country affiliates, employees and distributors in communities around the world to engage in causes that support children in need.

In the Philippines, Amway One by One’s thrust is education through literacy. At present, it has adopted six beneficiary schools nationwide under the Department of Education’s Adopt-A-School Program and reached more than 11 public schools in Tacloban this year and over 15,000 children as beneficiaries.

As part of the Amway One by One Campaign for Children’s 11th year anniversary celebration, and in completion of a partner’s pledge to DepEd last February 2014, Amway recently donated 11 sets of books to 11 public school libraries in Tacloban City. The receiving schools are: Bliss Elementary School, Dr. A.P Banez Memorial School, Utap Elementary School, Bagacay Elementary School, Cabalawan Elementary School, Camansihay Elementary School, Rizal Central School, Bayanihan Elementary School, Bulante Elementary School, Mercyville Elementary School and Nulatula Elementary School.

Present during the turnover are Diaz; Sarmiento-Tria; Mark Chester Tamayo, Department of Education’s district Supervisor, District Learning Center 1; Edgar Tenasas, Rizal Central School principal; Punongbayan-Ochoa; and the representatives from 11 partner schools.
