Asian Hospital opens breast care facility

By The Standard | Oct. 04, 2013 at 08:01pm
THE Asian Hospital and Medical Center recently inaugurated its world class Breast Center in its latest tower development within the medical center’s complex.

2013_oct05_estate3The center is the biggest of its kind in the country and is headed by a Breast Surgery Specialist who was trained in foreign countries including Italy, the Breast Center capital of the world.

“At the Breast Center, everything patients would need is located in one centralized complex said Dr, Aldine Basa, a Breast Surgery Specialist with advanced specialization training in Peter Maccallum Cancer Center in Melbourne, Australia and San Rafaele Hospital in Milan, Italy.

“There’s no more need for our patients to move from one floor to the next, or go from one section of the hospital to the next as everything patients would need is located in one centralized complex as all of our machines--- from  digital mammography to our ultrasound, to the biopsy lab ---are all inside the newly opened facility”. Dr. Basa explained.

“This makes their experience much less stressful and much more comfortable,” she added.

Quality of care is based on international standards and follows multi-disciplinary management. The waiting rooms and the diagnostic rooms, as well as the recovery rooms at the Breast Center have a five-star hotel ambiance.

During a press tour of the newly opened facility, a team of doctors presented the center’s fully equipped, “one-stop shop” facilities – from disease prevention to screening and diagnostics.
