Donaire wants to re-establish his name

By Ronnie Nathanielsz | Sep. 05, 2013 at 12:00am
Nonito Donaire wants to return to the ring against three-division world champion Vic Darchinyan on Nov. 9 in Corpus Christi, Texas and re-establish his name.

Donaire told the Manila Standard that his priority right now is to regain his status as a top class fighter and added, “ I want to come back and establish my name and that’s all I’m thinking of right now. I’m getting ready and will train hard  and not let anything disrupt his preparation.”

He will have a rematch with Darchinyan from whom he won the International Boxing Federation/International Boxing Organization flyweight titles with a stunning fifth round knockout on July 7, 2007.

He said he had brought his weight down to 135 pounds and feels really good.
