Rafael Rosell says ‘Okay for men to care for complexion’

By Isah V. Red | Jul. 02, 2013 at 06:02pm
Most men can’t care much about their complexion. They leave it to their girlfriends or wives, especially straight men who think that vanity is a sign of being gay.

Yet, actor Rafael Rosell, who plays Kiko Sebastian in Maghihintay Pa Rin, the afternoon drama series on GMA-7 with Bianca King, feels it is important to take care of his complexion on account of one, him being an actor, and two, because he is into sports that exposes him to the sun. He is into surfing and we know what too much sun can do to one’s skin, men or women.

So, when Skin ‘n Face, a beauty and wellness chain that offers skin care, dermatology, slimming, and spa services, asked him to be the face of Blaise Skin Care, their product line specifically formulated for men, he was incredulous at first.

“My manager (Popoy Caritativo) broke the news to me and I asked him why did they chose me,” Rosell related.

In choosing Rafael Rosell as an endorser of Blaise, Nisce Skin and Face knew it has found the right person to do just that for men. “We really believe that Rafael is the perfect endorser for Blaise products. He enjoys an active lifestyle yet still very mindful of his hygiene and of course his skin. He has the masculine charm that captures every woman’s eyes effortlessly,” Marie Antoinette Nisce, chief aesthetician of the company, said.

Rosell, in return, said,  “I feel honored to represent Nisce Skin ’n Face’s men skincare products (Blaise products). I found the company to be meticulous in choosing ambassadors who will promote the brand. I experienced how careful the company is in formulating products in the Blaise Skin Care line”

Asked why he accepted the offer and could it not taint his straight-man image, Rosell answered, “It’s not about vanity but, about proper skin care. Gentlemen like women, deserve the prize of radiance. In fact, men have more sensitive skin than women thus simply means they need skin care products especially formulated for them. Nisce Skin ‘n Face’s Blaise Skin Care, concentrates on men’s basic skincare to keep masculine charm –from shaving to cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. Especially men who are under the sun for most of the time, me being into surfing.”

Blaise Skin Care has a wide range of products from facial scrub, toner and clarifying lotion, they also have shaving cream, anti-perspirant deodorant, and after shave. All these products are specially formulated for manly skin types. These are carefully tested by the Nisce Skin ‘n Face research and development team, approved by board-certified dermatologists.

Now, because of Blaise, Rosell is more confident his looks won’t suffer much under the sun. “I can go surfing anytime, and when I come back for shooting, the make up artist doesn’t have to put on extra foundation so my looks can be consistent with the previous takes,” he says.
