He tried it when he was at the other network as Kapamilya, but his acting chops were not fully exploited, so to speak by the network.

Now that he is a card-bearing Kapuso, Christian Bautista’s dream to explore further his acting talent is getting realized. He is starring in his first Kapuso soap as Aston, an entrepreneur, who runs into Isay, a provincial lass, who wants to be a barbecue queen, in a freak accident. Throw in Mikael Daez, a happy-go-lucky young man in search of an inspiration for a meaningful life, and you have With A Smile, Network’s light daily romantic dramedy.

The series is also a follow up to Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga that had Andrea Torres and Mikael testing their on-screen chemistry. But what about Christian? Isn’t Andrea supposed to fall in love, too, with his character? Won’t that make Mikael’s character a not too important in the series?

The Network’s newest offering is a great avenue for Andrea, Mikael and Christian to show not only their talents in drama but also their funny side that will surely bring a smile on everyone’s face every weekday morning.

Joining the ensemble are Vince de Jesus, Miggs Cuaderno, Rj Padilla, Bryan Benedict, Soliman Cruz, Marnie Lapuz, Gilleth Sandico, Jak Roberto, Mikoy Morales, Shelly Hipolito and Kimpoy Feliciano.

Louie Ignacio returns to directing drama and he says it’s so much fun to work with Christian, Andrea, and Mikael.

With A Smile premieres on June 24 before Unexpected You on GMA’s morning block. This is the first time the network breaks the canned programming in the morning.
