Last-term Bataan 2nd district Congressman Albert Garcia defeated three-term Dinalupihan town Mayor Joel Payumo in the gubernatorial race.

He got 257, 596 votes versus Payumo’s 82,878, bannering a victory of National Unity Party  over Nationalist People’s Coalition in the province.

His father, incumbent Governor Enrique Garcia Jr. also won, obtaining 130, 129 votes compared to 56,432 votes of former governor Ding Roman for the seat in the House representing the district.

The governor-elect said the Garcia-platform of projects will be continued in his term such as “Iskolar ng Bataan” for college students; rice subsidy for village watchmen, barangay health workers, and war veterans; and PhilHealth card for indigents.
