Amalia Fuentes resigns from ‘Muling Buksan ang Puso’

By Isah V. Red | May. 29, 2013 at 06:02pm
The original diva of Philippine movies, Amalia Fuentes has reportedly left the set of ABS-CBN’s new drama series Muling Buksan ang Puso.

According to Bong R. Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Integrated Corporate Communicafions, Fuentes resigned “due to creative differences with the production team and the challenges and demands of regular taping schedules.”

Not happy with the script, Amalia Fuentes leaves set of new ABS-CBN series.

Osorio addes, “Her resignation has been accepted and her replacement will be announced soon.”

It’s sad news for the fans of Fuentes. They have been looking forward to watch her on screen again.

The drama series could have been her reunion with Susan Roces, her rival at the Sampaguita Pictures studios. The two made several movies together, including the Amy, Susie, Tessie series, including the archetypal movie fan rivalry film Amaliang Mali-Mali vs. Susanang Daldal, the drama Tulisan, and their reunion in the late ‘60s Cover Girls.

Oh, well, their reunion will never happen, I suppose, not in ABS-CBN. Perhaps in another studio. We will wait.
