Educational solutions provider Vibal Publishing House, Inc. said it has chosen to run its open source applications on Microsoft’s Windows Azure “for secure, fast and flexible delivery of products and services.”

Founded in 1953, Vibal publishes textbooks on general education which are widely used in the country. With the advent of modernity, the company has evolved into creating its own diverse portfolio of digital products including interactive e-books, multi-platform reading apps, integrated e-bookstores and other enterprise technology solutions.

The firm said it leveraged on Microsoft’s Windows Azure to run its open source applications; ensuring Vibal’s tool would provide the best quality learning experiences that are free from malware, delayed loading, and incompatibility issues.

According to Vibal systems engineer Edixon Yu, Windows Azure meets their security requirement. Yu noted that prior to using Windows Azure, there were availability issues and flooding of malware ads and spam on their websites.

“It allowed us to set up our websites quicker, boosting efficiency and faster turnaround for the business.  Our site visitors have pointed out an improved web browsing experience,” added Yu. “Having different framework versions for our products is no longer an issue. Users of our learning materials have sure access to our tools whichever browser or platform their school or institution is using.”

Windows Azure is an open and flexible cloud platform that enables quick development, deployment and management of applications across a global network of data centers. It allows development of applications using any language, tool or framework.
