Malapitan tops business survey

By Gigi Munoz-David | Apr. 25, 2013 at 12:00am
Caloocan Rep. Oscar Malapitan topped a survey of business executives held by a Makati-based pollster barely weeks to voting day.

Results of the Stratfocus Consultancy study conducted on 2,500 respondents showed that Malapitan got 57.88 percent, while contender councilor Ricojudge Echiverri scored 33.52%. Former mayor Macario Asistio Jr. got 4% and Dionisio Guillarte 1.36%.

The survey said 3.24% of the respondents were undecided.

Stratfocus executive director Melvin Manhit said the agency has been commissioned by the local business sector to do the survey.

“We are not interested in any party or group... the truth is, the survey results in Caloocan have not changed since we started it in November up to this time,” said Manhit, who admitted a group of Filipino-Chinese business executives commissioned the first phase of the Stratfocus survey.

Malapitan served as vice mayor before joining Congress in 2004.
