Batangas bikefest on April 27

A total of P150,000 will be at stake when the Gov. Vilma Santos Recto Cup mountain bike race gets going on April 27.

Billed as “Padyak Tungo sa Mas Maunlad na Turismo,” the bikefest is organized by the provincial government of Batangas, in coordination with the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.

The race kicks off in Cuenca, and will head towards  Alitagtag, Sta. Teresita, San Nicolas, Agoncillo, Laurel, Talisay, Tanauan City and  Balete, before finishing at the Mataas na Kahoy/Fernando Air Base for a total of 78 kilometers.

The race is the first of its kind in the CALABARZON area.

The winner gets P50,000, while the second place and third placer gets P30,000 and P20,000, respectively. Prizes will be given away up to the 20th placer.

Competitions will be held in the open category and to all amateur cyclists.
