Fire strikes Pasig building

By Gigi Munoz-David | Feb. 15, 2013 at 12:00am
Around P3 million in properties went up in smoke when a fire razed a three-story building in Pasig City Thursday night.

Pasig City fire marshal Chief Insp. Roy Quisto said the fire broke out around  before midnight at the Rider Levett Buckhal Building located at 59 Canley Road, Barangaya Ugong.

The blaze started on the third floor and immediately spread because the office was filled with papers, Quisto said.

Stay-in employee Timmy Guritan told arson investigators that the fire was electrical in nature. Quisto said an electric switch box malfunctioned.

The fire reached the first alarm and was declared out at 12:36 p.m., leaving the first two floors partially damaged. No one was hurt in the incident.
