3-in-1 dartfest set on Sunday

A three-in-one dart tournament called “Malong Armada Cup” will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the NU Grill, Ambassador Hotel along Mabini St. in Malate, Manila.

Original members of the Philippine Dart Association will lead senior, lady and youth participants in the dartfest, which offers trophies and P15,000 cash prizes, according to organizers Cubie and Manuel Ballesca.

One of the featured events is the “Senior Classified Doubles,” which gives recognition to veteran darters and Balikbayan friend Mulong Armada, a superb player in the 70s and 80s.  Invited to participate in the event are comebacking dart legends like former sports journalist Renato Mauricio, Ernie Carpio, the Eribal brothers, Ballesca brothers, car rally driver Ike Borja, Mike Melchor, Art Peralta, Tony Fournier, Egay Cruz, Noel Garcia and Chito Yacapin.

Darts Council of the Philippines president Atty. Andrew Arrieta, directors Errol Magtubo, Bel Umali and Logie Estacio and sponsors Jojo Claudio of Toby’s Sports, Reggie Francisco of Tres Marias de Malate Dart Club and Andy Mercado of Terton Craft will also show their darting skills.
