Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte greet Red Cross volunteers in Sunday’s “Million Volunteer Run 2” at the Quezon Memorial Circle to catapult the Philippines as Red Cross volunteer capital of the world and Quezon City as the counterpart hub. The QC leg of the marathon was joined by an estimated 380,000 runners to make the biggest contingent fielded by a local government unit. Former senator and now National Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon introduced the race.
