Microsoft Philippines on Tuesday announced the local release of the new Office – a cloud service, reinvention of the company’s flagship Office products such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel among others.

“We introduce and take you to your modern Office—an Office that goes beyond the four corners of a room, …that is accessible wherever you are,” said Microsoft PH’s Karrie Ilagan. “This is Office re-imagined as a cloud service with all the full-featured Office applications people know and love, together with impressive new cloud and social benefits built for the modern day consumer.”

Priced at Php3,499.00 SRP, the Office 365 Home Premium is available through one-year subscription which could be installed in 10 devices (five PCs and five tablets). It comes with extra SkyDrive capacity and 60 minutes of free Skype world minutes.

Microsoft said it will now deliver new features and services to the cloud, transforming the company’s traditional three-year release cycle. Meaning, new features and services stream to subscribers as soon as ready, keeping subscribers updated without the need to upgrade.

Kelsey Hartigan-Go, CIO of SM Prime Holdings, shared how the new Office helped increase their productivity.

“Microsoft has helped strengthen our IT infrastructure with the new Office and this has been very helpful in the growth of our business. We are excited about the new Office because it offers mobility, cloud and control features built for the enterprise.”

Since the new Office is cloud-connected, files can now be accessed through the built in capability of SkyDrive, allowing users to be mobile and more productive.

“As a mom and entrepreneur, I’m never completely at home or completely at work,” shares Janice Crisostomo-Villanueva, founder of Mommymundo.com and Mercato. “The new Office allows me to work around my kids’ schedules so I can coordinate errands while at their school functions and still hit my deadlines at work. The new Office has transformed the way I live.”
